East Saint Louis, Illinois

East Saint Louis is a major railroad junction point across the river from St. Louis. The city currently contains Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern and Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis lines.
In addition, the St. Louis Metrolink also operates a lightrail through the town.
Historically, the town served as a major switch point for all major railroads going into St. Louis. Because this was a major industrial and rail yard area, the town has many relics from the railroad era.
